Color Confessions

Speaking from experience, anxiety can come with some of the most paralyzing symptoms. Heart palpitations, sweating, shaking, breakouts. It can also lead to full blown panic attacks.

According to EverydayHealth.com, Coloring, no longer just for your kids, is a drug-free and financially feasible way to help calm your own anxiety. What makes coloring so compelling? Experts say by coloring you're fully engaged in what you're doing in the moment. “Any activity that does that is going to improve your mental health.” says Chris Aiken, MD, an instructor in clinical psychiatry at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine and director of the Mood Treatment Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

So the next time you're feeling anxious break out your favorite coloring book and art supplies  and color those anxious feelings away.
